Disappointed
It’s really funny how the cosmos works. Paolo told me about this guy who lost over 300lbs by riding a bike. I’ve been meaning to check out his blog for a couple of days now but I kept putting it off. Then today of all days I finally do it and I read one of his posts that totally describes how I’m feeling.
from largefellaonabike:
I like being surprised [and thusly, wrong] about people, but mostly people aren’t surprising and therefore I end up being ‘Right’ in a disappointed way. Most folks are predictable, and therefore unsurprising to me, and therethereforefore: I end up being Right about them, which then bores & disappoints me. See, I like -actually Love- being made Wrong. But I’m usually Right. Bummer.
At times like these, when I’m feeling disappointed with my fellow man, I think about this book entitled ‘The World Without Us’ by Alan Weisman. I haven’t read it but the title alone was enough to make me wonder what the world would be like without humans. The answer is always the same: better.
